Ori Welcomes Jacob Smith to Its Board of Directors

We’re excited to announce the appointment of Jacob Smith to our Board of Directors. A proven leader and founder with a multifaceted career spanning digital infrastructure, internet marketing, sales, arts management, and classical music, Jacob brings a wealth of expertise and insight that will propel Ori’s mission of transforming the AI infrastructure landscape.

Jacob joins Ori’s board after three years of go-to-market leadership at Equinix, which acquired Packet, the infrastructure automation startup he co-founded in 2014 with investments from SoftBank, Dell Capital, Battery Ventures, Third Point Capital and Samsung. At Equinix, Jacob played a key role in scaling Equinix Metal and driving GTM strategies focused on customer success, startups, and open source. He also led efforts to integrate product-led growth and self-service into Equinix’s $8B revenue engine. 

Prior to his tech career, Jacob was a professional bassoonist, having performed with the Academy of Vocal Arts Opera Orchestra and Opera Philadelphia, and led a successful digital marketing agency focused on luxury brands. Jacob lives and works from rural Vermont.
